The Great Indian Divide.

A month ago, I went to the local electricity board office here near my house. It was behind a huge building filled with computers and cubicles of MNCs. But as soon as I walked a mere 50 meters, the whole scenery changed. Old men and women sitting outside their "houses"... Houses made of sticks and paper and tarpaulin sheets. Children carrying buckets filled with water. Little girls who should be in school washing clothes. Boys mixing cement for a construction site nearby (probably another 12 storeyed building filled with computers). The back side of the cyber city. People with no protection from the weather. People mostly ignored by the rich. Small kids rolling a cycle tyre with a stick while a BMW speeds by ...
